本次疫情属亚临床感染，病原是H型非典型牛海绵状脑病致病因子。
本次疫情涉及的动物有27头牛，其中1头发病，处理1头。诊断性质为实验室检验。目前感染来源尚不清楚。这是挪威首次发生牛海绵状脑病。
